Earlier in the year, Dubai’s largest provider of public paid parking facilities launched two new zones in Mirdif. These zones are free on Sundays and public holidays, and they use variable pricing structures.
Parkin introduced variable pricing in April, adjusting charges depending on whether the parking occurs during peak or off-peak hours.
Additionally, the operator has launched monthly subscription options for certain parking zones. These subscriptions are non-refundable and allow up to three vehicles to be registered under the same traffic file, though only one vehicle may be active at any given time. For more information about subscribing, managing multiple vehicles, and checking the list of eligible zones, readers are directed to the detailed report on Khaleej Times.
Parkin also expanded its capacity by adding over 10,000 new parking spots, which contributed to a record revenue of Dh273.3 million in the first quarter of this year. This figure reflects a 27 percent increase compared to the first quarter of 2024. Notably, this revenue was achieved before the company implemented variable pricing and raised fees in premium parking zones.
