Great news for drivers: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has finalized road enhancements at the Al Wasl Street and Al Manara Street intersection, boosting road capacity by 50%.
According to RTA, the number of lanes has now increased to three, significantly improving traffic flow and reducing waiting time by up to 30%.
The upgrade included the addition of a new lane for vehicles heading from Al Manara Street to Sheikh Zayed Road, as well as the introduction of a dedicated U-turn lane for traffic moving in that same direction.
RTA confirmed that these improvements are part of the ongoing 2025 Traffic Improvement Plan, which aims to expand Dubai’s road infrastructure, strengthen connectivity across major routes, and improve traffic efficiency, particularly along roads parallel to Sheikh Zayed Road and in important districts like Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim, and Al Safa.
“These initiatives support our broader strategy to enhance road safety, enable smooth traffic between inner neighborhoods, and reduce congestion in densely populated zones,” RTA stated.
