With UAE summer temperatures soaring, authorities are urging motorists to inspect vehicle tyres to prevent blowouts. In 2024, over 37,900 drivers were fined for worn-out or unsafe tyres—26,000+ in Abu Dhabi alone. Tyre bursts caused 20 accidents last year, prompting officials to highlight key dangers: overloading, incorrect pressure, speeding, heat-induced friction, and misuse. Fines reach Dh500, plus black points and impoundment. Traffic departments continue seasonal awareness campaigns to promote tyre safety and reduce fatal accidents on UAE roads.
