Sharjah Police successfully apprehended a driver involved in a hit-and-run incident on Airport Road in less than six hours, demonstrating the efficiency of their advanced surveillance systems and rapid response protocols.
According to Colonel Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department, the driver abruptly swerved, colliding with three vehicles before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Thanks to Sharjah Police’s smart monitoring technologies and coordinated efforts, the vehicle was quickly identified and the suspect arrested in record time.
Colonel Al Ali reminded motorists that fleeing the scene of an accident is a serious federal offense in the UAE, punishable by up to one year in prison, a fine between AED 50,000 and AED 100,000, or both.
