UAE Cabinet Meeting Chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Reviews National Achievements
Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, presided over a Cabinet meeting at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi. High-ranking officials, including H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, attended the session.
UAE Ranks Among Top 5 in Global Competitiveness
Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the UAE’s progress in the 2025 IMD World Competitiveness Ranking, securing 5th place globally, up from 28th in 2009. The nation excelled in economic competitiveness, government efficiency, and business environment, ranking:
1st in the absence of bureaucracy
2nd in government policy adaptability
4th in government efficiency
He credited this success to 14 years of strategic efforts under the UAE Competitiveness Council, emphasizing that the nation’s future remains bright under the leadership of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.
Housing Support & Balanced Development Initiatives
The Cabinet approved AED 1.2 billion in housing grants for 1,838 citizens in H1 2025 to promote family stability. Additionally, they reviewed the Emirates Council for Balanced Development’s projects, which enhance economic and social growth in Emirati villages, creating opportunities for families and entrepreneurs.
Digital Transformation & Anti-Money Laundering Efforts
Digital Identity now serves 11 million users, with 600 million logins and 2.6 billion transactions across 130 entities.
The Higher Committee for Anti-Money Laundering was restructured to strengthen the UAE’s position as a global leader in financial security.
New National Maritime Navigation Center
A National Maritime Navigation Center will be established under the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure to enhance maritime safety, security, and environmental protection.
Record-Breaking Trade Growth & Economic Partnerships
The UAE has signed 27 Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements (CEPAs), with eight already in effect, contributing to a trade volume of AED 5.23 trillion in 2024. Non-oil exports surged to AED 440 billion in 2023, marking an 83% increase since 2019.
