Holywood star Brad Pitt, starring in the upcoming F1 film as fictional driver Sonny Hayes, took to the track for the first time in a real Formula One car. Pitt tested a 2023 McLaren MCL60 at Austin’s Circuit of the Americas during a private session with McLaren, the reigning F1 world champions.

Previously, Pitt only drove modified Formula Two cars made to resemble F1 vehicles for the movie. McLaren teased the event with a social media post featuring Pitt’s overalls marked “BP.”

Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, a co-producer of the film, praised Pitt’s speed and dedication during F2 testing, highlighting the actor’s impressive commitment to authentically portraying the sport.
