Sharjah is building a stunning new mountain-top destination in Kalba called “Above the Clouds”, rising 850 metres above sea level on Mount Deem. Slated to open in 2026, the crescent-shaped retreat spans 4,700 sqm and will offer breathtaking views of Kalba’s coast and mountain valleys.
The project features two levels:
Upper floor: restaurant, open-air café, and reading area
Ground floor: theatre, multipurpose hall, prayer room, play zone, restrooms, viewing decks, and green spaces
The retreat is designed to offer a peaceful, immersive escape with strong ties to local nature and culture.
Surrounding the site, over 6,000 trees have been planted — including olive, apple, pomegranate, grape, and other fruit trees — creating a lush environment that blends with the mountain's natural terrain.
To ensure smooth access, a 10-kilometre road network and two bridges are being developed. These include a road connecting Wadi Al Helo Tunnel to Sharjah–Kalba Road and another leading to the summit. Roads are three-laned and capable of handling large vehicles.
Once completed, Above the Clouds will join Kalba’s growing portfolio of eco-tourism landmarks such as the Hanging Gardens, Al Hafiya Lake, and Kalba Clock Tower, making eastern Sharjah a key destination for nature, leisure, and cultural tourism.
