I was excited to begin an eight-week internship in the IT department of Sohail Smart Solutions as a third-year artificial intelligence student at AURAK University. It was an eye-opening experience, and I wanted to close the gap between what I've learnt in class and the actual world.
Finding My Direction:
I felt like a person carrying a map without any idea where to go before I started the internship. Even though I had studied a lot in college, I wasn't entirely sure how everything related to one another or how it might be applied to practical applications. Everything began to make sense at Sohail Smart Solution. I had been lacking direction and clarity, but this encounter provided it. It demonstrated to me how concepts become reality and how planning, design, and programming all work together to create something significant.
What I Learned:
I got the chance to delve deeply into both technical capabilities and practical application throughout my tenure with the IT department. Among the things I discovered were the following:
- How to create a website from the ground up, covering the back and front ends.
- Understanding how things appear and how users perceive them is are key idea in UI and UX design.
- took classes in Python and PHP, which improved my foundation in programming.
- learned how to evaluate a website and determine its advantages and disadvantages.
- recognized the value of structure and strategy in creating scalable, effective websites.
Taking up the Challenges:
Time management was one of the most difficult things I had to do. It took discipline and concentration to learn new programming languages while attempting to use them in actual tasks. I had to balance coding, creating, practicing, and researching under strict time constraints. But with perseverance, cooperation, and trial and error, I managed to stay up and develop more quickly than I ever would have imagined.
Achievements I’m Proud Of:
I'm pleased to report that during my training, I helped with several actual projects, such as:
- collaborating on a GPS website project with the front-end team.
- I learned a lot about visual hierarchy, consistency, and user behavior while working on the Figma design for the Sohail Smart Solution website.
- composing a portion of a book about AI tools.
These encounters increased my confidence, in addition to providing me with useful abilities. At last, I saw how my expertise might actually benefit a group and a project.
This internship wasn’t just a learning experience; it was a turning point. I went from someone with scattered knowledge in programming and AI concepts to someone with a clear understanding of how to apply that knowledge in real-world projects. Now, I know how AI and web development can work together to bring ideas to life and solve real problems.
I’m incredibly thankful to the team at Sohail Smart Solution for their support, guidance, and trust. This journey has sparked a new level of passion in me, and I can’t wait to see where it leads next.
