You might have noticed a young Emirati boy driving a small black Mercedes, beaming with joy while giving flowers to workers. Known as the “Sheikh of Happiness,” he’s become a cherished presence, lifting spirits through his simple, kind gestures.
In recognition of his heartwarming mission, Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Head of the Planning and Municipality Department in Ajman, met the boy — Majed Omar — on Tuesday at the Ajman Municipality. During the meeting, Sheikh Rashid offered encouragement and praised Majed for spreading positivity and joy in the community.
During their conversation, Majed presented Sheikh Rashid with a box of sweets and inquired if he had completed his happiness tour at the institution. Sheikh Rashid responded, encouraging Majed to do his best in school and expressed his desire to see him succeed and eventually join them professionally. Majed was delighted by the support he received.

Inspiring Joy in Others
Majed’s journey started during Ramadan 2025 at an exhibition where he handed flowers to attendees and was met with widespread appreciation.
The 8-year-old Emirati from Sharjah, currently in the fourth grade, drew inspiration from his late father — a man devoted to helping others. With guidance from his older brother Khalid, who always tells him to "be the reason behind people’s smiles,” Majed began spreading joy in his own way.
He emphasizes that happiness can be shared through simple gestures: “Anyone can make someone smile — even with just a kind word or a flower.”
Each morning, Majed dons a bisht and Emirati turban, enters his black car with a national 971 plate number, loaded with red roses and gifts, and heads off on his happiness mission — visiting workplaces to brighten the days of employees.
Majed explained that the idea behind the “Sheikh of Happiness” began when he noticed how joyful people became after receiving flowers. Their smiles inspired him to continue the effort.
He describes a difference between himself and his public role: “Majed is the boy who studies and plays. But when I wear the bisht and drive my car, I take on the responsibility of spreading happiness.”
To him, the Sheikh of Happiness is a child who shares joy through kind words, flowers, and small, thoughtful gifts. “Red roses symbolize love, and I love all people. I love seeing smiles on their faces,” he said.
Moments That Matter
Majed remembers a touching interaction with an elderly man to whom he gave a flower. The man smiled and said, “You’ve made my day.” That moment deeply moved Majed and continues to inspire his work.
Thanks to the emotional and financial support from his family, classmates, and teachers, Majed has been able to visit more institutions and expand his happiness mission.
He advocates: “Speak kindly, smile, and help others — because positivity always returns with its beautiful effect.”
Majed also receives messages of gratitude from those he’s touched. In one message, a girl wrote to thank him, saying that his smile helped restore her emotional strength and well-being.
