Lahore: Zimbabwean all-rounder Sikandar Raza helped Lahore Qalandars secure their third Pakistan Super League (PSL) title in four years, arriving just 10 minutes before the toss after flying in from England.
Despite playing a Test match against England a day earlier, Raza scored an unbeaten 22 off 7 balls, joining Kusal Perera (62* off 31) to chase down Quetta Gladiators’ 201-9. Lahore reached 204-4 in 19.5 overs in a thrilling final on Sunday.
Quetta, boosted by Hasan Nawaz’s 76 and Faheem Ashraf’s 28, crossed the 200-run mark, but late wickets by Shaheen Shah Afridi (3-24) and Haris Rauf (2-41) slowed their momentum. Raza sealed the game with a six and a boundary in the final over.
Lahore, also champions in 2022 and 2023, now match Islamabad United’s record of three PSL titles. Raza called the victory “unbelievable,” noting his exhausting journey from Nottingham to Lahore in under 24 hours.
