Qatar has officially declared a 5-day public holiday for Eid-ul-Adha 2025, starting from the 9th to the 13th of Dhul Hijjah 1446 AH, as per the announcement approved by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. This festive break will apply to all government entities, ministries, and public institutions, offering residents a meaningful pause to observe one of the holiest Islamic festivals, also known as Bakra Eid, Eid-ul-Zuha, or the Feast of Sacrifice.

While the official dates are tied to the crescent moon sighting, Eid-ul-Adha is tentatively expected to begin on Friday, June 6, 2025, with Arafah Day on Thursday, June 5. However, the Eid holiday in Qatar could extend further, depending on the lunar calendar, giving workers the possibility of a longer break.

Eid-ul-Adha honors the devotion of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and is marked by communal prayers, charitable giving, and the sacrifice of animals as part of the religious ritual. With the holidays approaching, demand for flights and hotels in Qatar is expected to surge, so residents and visitors are advised to plan early.
